NEW YORK – July 23, 2025 | – The Davis Companies (Davis), a vertically integrated real estate investment, development, and management firm, today announced that Andrew Kurd will join the firm as Managing Director to lead the firm’s New York City office. Andrew will be a member of the firm’s investment committee and will focus on growing the firm’s investment platform throughout the region and across all of Davis’ multi-asset class investment strategy.
Davis entered the New York City market 15 years ago and has steadily expanded its presence in the region over the past decade. The company’s nearly $1 billion Fund V already includes several New York City investments and is positioned to expand its deployment of additional capital across the market.
“Andrew’s deep familiarity with the New York market and his proven ability to creatively identify and realize investment potential position him perfectly to help lead our strategy in the region,” said Quentin Reynolds, Chief Investment Officer at Davis. “As we build upon our long history in New York, Andrew’s experience and perspective will maximize our team’s unique ability to unlock opportunities and deliver top value for our investors.”
Kurd joins Davis after more than 15 years in the real estate investment and banking sectors in the Greater New York market. Most recently, he served as the Co-Chief Investment Officer at Savanna, where he led the underwriting, acquisition, financing, and disposition of more than $4.5 billion in transactions. Prior to joining Savanna in 2010, Andrew worked in the commercial real estate group at Deutsche Bank.
“Davis is widely recognized for its disciplined, value-driven investment philosophy. I’m thrilled to join the team at a pivotal moment of growth for the firm,” said Kurd. “The Greater New York market is dynamic, complex and full of opportunity. I look forward to continuing to expand the platform and deploy capital creatively and strategically to grow Davis’ impact in the region.”
Founded nearly 50 years ago, Davis has a rich history of successfully investing in, managing, and developing real estate for its own account and on behalf of private and institutional investors. The company’s full-scale operating platform, depth of executive experience and strong industry relationships allow it to create and capitalize on opportunities throughout the capital stack and across multiple asset classes.
Davis’ New York portfolio has grown significantly in recent years through a series of strategic investments with recent examples including 55 Willoughby Street, The Symon and 540 Atlantic Avenue in Downtown Brooklyn, 168 Plymouth in DUMBO and Rise LIC in Long Island City. Davis also continues to expand its presence as a direct developer across different product types including its ground-up multifamily development at 1975 Madison in Central Harlem and the development of an 18-story Manhattan Mini self-storage facility on West 29th Street in Manhattan’s Chelsea neighborhood. Other transactions are currently pending.
Kurd holds a Bachelor of Sciences in Economics with concentrations in Finance and Real Estate from the Wharton School of Finance at the University of Pennsylvania.
