Seasoned real estate professional, Jim Scott, joins The Davis Companies in Pittsburgh as Vice President of Investments
PITTSBURGH, PA – January 22, 2018 – The Davis Companies, a Boston-based real estate investment and development firm, announced the hiring of Jim Scott, a Pittsburgh-based senior real estate acquisition and investment professional. As a Vice President of Investments at The Davis Companies, Scott will be responsible for identifying potential development, acquisition and direct equity investment opportunities in Pittsburgh and the Tri-State area, as well as in other select markets.
Scott has over 12 years of experience in Pennsylvania-based acquisitions and investments and, until recently, served as the Assistant Vice President, Acquisitions and Investments of Oxford Development Company. While at Oxford, he was responsible for the site assemblage of 3-Crossings, particularly Phase 2, a large mixed-use development which will encompasses more than 10 acres of urban land assemblage and was the winner of the 2017 Urban Land Institute Placemaking Award for Excellence. Scott earned a BA from University of Tennessee-Knoxville and is active in the Pittsburgh community as a board member of Our Clubhouse, a 501(c)(3) non-profit organization that provides free emotional and social support to those touched by cancer in western Pennsylvania.

The Davis Companies recently completed a $100 million revitalization of the historic Union Trust Building on Grant Street in downtown Pittsburgh. The company also recently acquired the vacant Shannon Hall building, a former student housing facility for the Art Institute of Pittsburgh located on First Avenue, with plans to redevelop the 230,000-square-foot, nine-story building into a loft-style apartment complex featuring approximately 200 units comprised of studio, one and two bedroom apartments. The Davis Companies is also the designated developer for the 9th and Penn parking facility in Pittsburgh which is owned by the Pittsburgh Parking Authority and plans to create a large mixed-use facility in collaboration with both the Parking Authority and the Pittsburgh Cultural Trust. The hiring of Jim Scott demonstrates the company’s commitment to additional investment initiatives in Pittsburgh.
