Boston-based real estate development firm The Davis Cos. has tapped Michael Cantalupa as Managing Director and Chief Development Officer. Cantalupa will succeed Brian Fallon as head of the company’s development group when Fallon retires next year.
Cantalupa was formerly chief development officer and senior vice president at senior living company Benchmark, and prior to that was senior vice president at Boston Properties (NYSE: BXP).
“I have long admired the success of The Davis Companies and am extremely excited to become a part of the leadership of this team,” said Cantalupa in a statement. “Brian has assembled a highly talented group of development and construction professionals at TDC. I am thrilled to have the opportunity to work with him and the rest of the team to build upon their outstanding track record of accomplishment.”
The local Davis Cos. projects include the $550 million Omni hotel in the Seaport District and a 138-unit condominium building at 100 Shawmut Ave. in South End.
Fallon plans to retire in August 2021.
“We are thrilled to have a development professional of Mike’s proven talent and expertise as part our team,” he said in a statement. “Mike brings an outstanding depth of experience in managing the development of large, complex projects to TDC, having played a key role in some of the most iconic properties in this region and beyond. I look forward to working with him in continuing to advance our substantial portfolio of projects.”
