PITTSBURGH – The Davis Companies has promoted Chris Lasky to the newly created role of Vice President, Development Joint Ventures.

Lasky brings a distinguished track record of success to the position and has played a crucial role in overseeing key projects for TDC since joining the firm in 2014, including the $100 million restoration of Pittsburgh’s landmark Union Trust Building and the $35 million conversion of the Try Street Terminal Building on First Street in Pittsburgh into Terminal 21, a vibrant, highly amenitized 207-unit loft style apartment community.

In addition to his continuing oversight role for the firm’s Pittsburgh-area projects, as Vice President, Development Joint Ventures, Lasky will be responsible for coordinating and supervising the management of all aspects of the firm’s real estate development projects undertaken with joint venture partners around the country. He will play an integral role on the development team as TDC continues its program of identifying and investing in compelling opportunities in select markets in the U.S. following the final closing of its largest value-add real estate fund to date, Davis Investment Ventures Fund IV, with total equity commitments of approximately $780 million. He will report to Managing Director and Chief Development Officer, Michael Cantalupa.

“Chris brings a perfect skill set to Davis’s joint venture platform, enabling us to invest in third-party sponsored projects and to complement our partners’ skill sets through his contributions to the design and construction procurement processes, active project oversight, creative problem solving and introduction of industry best practices gathered from his long professional history,” said Cantalupa. “We look forward to Chris’s contributions and his leadership in this newly created position.”

“I’m excited to build upon the success I’ve achieved at The Davis Companies and, in this new role, to pursue new JV partnerships and opportunities to identify and realize hidden value in the market,” said Lasky.

For the last seven years Lasky has been the Vice President, Development for TDC’s Pittsburgh office where he has been directly responsible for oversight of the design and construction of development projects in the region. Most notably, he was responsible for the successful restoration and repositioning of the Union Trust Building in downtown Pittsburgh, which has won numerous national and international awards and was recently ranked as a Top 5 Most Energy Efficient Office Building in Pittsburgh.

Lasky has over 20 years of architectural experience, with a vast majority being in the Pittsburgh region. His experience includes owning and operating his own architectural firm. He has served as Project Architect on large local projects such as the Alcoa Corporate Center on the North Shore, as well as Vice President of Massaro Construction Management Services, overseeing 30 employees in multiple offices.

Lasky serves on the American Institute of Architects National Documents Committee, and on the American Arbitration Association Construction Division Roster of Neutrals.
