Boston, MA –  The Davis Companies (Davis), a vertically integrated real estate investment, development, and management firm, today announced that Jon Needham will join the team as Senior Vice President of Asset Management for the firm’s Science and Technology industry vertical, which includes life sciences, advanced research and development, clean technology, and medical office assets.

Jon brings a decade of national experience in investments, asset management and transactions to Davis, as well as a deep knowledge of the Greater Boston commercial real estate market. Most recently, he served as the Vice President of Asset Management at BentallGreenOak (BGO) where he helped develop BGO’s national life sciences strategy while asset managing the firm’s 3 million SF lab R&D and cGMP portfolio. In his new role, Jon will be charged with helping Davis continue to successfully manage its portfolio of science and technology-oriented real estate assets and to continue the growth of its advanced R&D and life science integrated platform.

“As a former student-athlete, Jon knows what it takes to be a true team player who is invigorated by challenges, and we are thrilled to add him to our already talented team. Among Jon’s many positive attributes are his focus on building relationships and goodwill across the industry, qualities we deeply value as a firm,” said Cappy Daume, Chief Portfolio Management Officer at Davis. “Jon’s knowledge and drive will be invaluable, and we are confident he brings the expertise needed to collaborate across functions, both internally and externally, and to help the continuing elevation of Davis’ portfolio in these dynamic markets.”

Davis’ portfolio has or currently includes world-class facilities and developments in life sciences hubs such as Cambridge, Seaport, Watertown, and Medford. Currently, the portfolio includes 30 investments totaling more than 5.8 million square feet of space.

“Davis is an established leader in delivering exceptional products across different market conditions and within a highly competitive ecosystem,” said Needham. “I am excited to join the team and look forward to collaborating with leadership to help build the next phase of Davis’ legacy through the growth of its expanding portfolio.”

Needham holds Bachelor of Arts degrees in History and Cultural Anthropology from Duke University, a Master’s in Liberal Studies from Duke University, and a Master of Business Administration from Babson College. He is a member of the National Association of Office and Industrial Properties (NAIOP), is part of Urban Land Institute’s (ULI) Boston Market Counsel and was part of Institutional Real Estate’s 2021 Springboard program.
